    Rie's Katsudon Recipe

Put 3 cups of sushi rice into rice cooker bowl

Wash the rice at the sink and put rice cooker bowl back into rice cooker

Add 3 cups of water to the rice cooker and cook

Slice half an onion and set aside

    Tenderize the pork chop

Salt and pepper the pork to taste

Dredge the pork in four, then egg (use 2 eggs), then panko, then egg, then panko.

Fry pork in oil until it reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit internal (oil should be 340 degrees before starting to fry)

    Rest pork

In a frying pan add ¼ cup of water and boil

Then add ⅓ teaspoon bonito soup stock

    Add the cut onion

Add 1 ½ tablespoon soy sauce

    Add ½ tablespoon sugar

Add 1 tablespoon mirin (rice cooking wine)

Crack 2 eggs and mix in a small bowl and set aside

Slice the cooked pork and add to frying pan

Then add the egg around the pork in the frying pan

Add lid and do not stir. Allow to cook for 2 mins.

Put cooked rice into a bowl and slide contents of frying pan on top.
